MATINS SERVICE AND LAMENTATIONS BEFORE CHRIST’S TOMB AT THE CHURCH OF ST NICHOLAS IN PERTH<\/div>\n

The noble Joseph, when he had taken down Thy most pure Body from the Cross, wrapped it in a clean linen shroud, anointed it with fragrant spices, and laid it in a new tomb.<\/em><\/div>\n

On 18 April 2025, on the eve of Holy and Great Saturday of Passion Week, a Matins service was held at the parish of St Nicholas in Perth. The service was officiated by the parish rector, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Stanko Jovanovski.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
During the service, before the tomb and the Epitaphios of Christ, the Lamentations (Stichera of the Lamentations) were sung in devotion.<\/div>\n

Following the procession and the threefold circuit around the church, the faithful venerated the Epitaphios, glorifying Christ\u2019s sufferings and His voluntary burial.<\/div>\n
