With that act, they opposed the heresy that stated that the Word of God should only be spread in three languages: Aramaic, Greek, and Latin. St. Cyril fell ill and died in Rome in 869. St. Methodius continued his mission and helped his disciples. He reposed in the Lord in 886. The holy brothers are patrons of all Slavic peoples and the Macedonian people, so we pray and ask them to intercede for all Slavic peoples and to keep them faithful to the Orthodox faith.
