GABRIEL AND THE NAME DAY OF THE ABBOT OF THE KINGLAKE MONASTERY, FATHER GABRIEL (GALEV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Macedonian Orthodox community in Melbourne and the State of Victoria prayerfully and solemnly celebrated the commemoration of Saint Gabriel, Bishop of Velich, as well as the name day of the abbot of the Monastery of <em>Saint Clement of Ohrid<\/em> in Kinglake, Father Gabriel (Galev).<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, on 11 January 2026, on the eve of the feast, Vespers were served at the church of the Macedonian Orthodox Church Community <em>Saint Great Martyr George and the Most Holy Theotokos<\/em> in Epping. The service was led by Father Gabriel (Galev), concelebrating with Fr Dejan Milo\u0161evi\u0107 of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the parish priest of the church, Priest Kliment Stankovski.<\/p>\n<p>A large number of faithful attended the service and had the opportunity to venerate the holy relics of Saint Gabriel the Athonite, Bishop of Velich\u2014a saint of our time\u2014and to be spiritually strengthened through common prayer.<\/p>\n<p>The celebration continued the following day with the Divine Holy Liturgy, once again affirming the living faith, spiritual unity, and reverence of the Macedonian Orthodox people in the diaspora toward their saint and spiritual shepherd. Priests of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Australia concelebrated at the Liturgy.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of the services, in addition to the personal congratulations offered by the faithful, the fullness of the Australian\u2013Sydney Diocese of the Macedonian Orthodox Church \u2013 Ohrid Archbishopric, namely the clergy and the faithful people, extended an official diocesan greeting to Abbot Father Gabriel (Galev), wishing him good health, a blessed and fruitful ministry in the new Year of Our Lord, and many moments filled with spiritual joy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<style
