\u0433. \u041d\u0430\u0443\u043c<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p>The demoniac ( demon-tormented, demon-possessed ), whom Jesus Christ healed, asked Jesus if he could follow Him, but the locals were left without God, because they did not welcomed Him, to be more precise , they asked Him to leave their region. This Gospel reading (see Luke 8, 26-39) shows that the demon-tormented people can be healed easier , because those, who are completely occupied by the demon, remain without choice, freely to decide for their salvation. On the other hand, those ones, who think they are conscious and healthy &#8211; it is much harder to be healed , because according to the free will, which God does not disturb, if they remain slaves to the passions &#8211; especially to the passion of high opinion about themselves, they remain unhealed.<br \/>\nThe free will is like a double-edged sword, because we can use it to attain the likeness of God or we can misuse it and abandon God (fall from communion with God) , as well as from humanity itself.<br \/>\nGod respects our freedom, because if freedom is violated, His image in us, according to which we are created, would be violated as well.<br \/>\nSo, why do we not accept Christ? Because of the satisfaction of our passions, which turns out to be more important to us, than Him.<br \/>\nThe example with the people of the Gadarene&#8217;s land shows that the pigs were more important to them (i.e. the property),than Christ, because of the passions of covetousness and gluttony.<br \/>\nThese passions are those ones that are called rough passions and through which the demon attacks first.<br \/>\nWhat can we say about the more subtle passion of the mind, such as the high opinion of oneself, that is, the vanity, through which the demon keeps us captive and through which he seriously attacks us at the end? In other words, vanity is the last passion in the order to be transformed before we can cross from one level of spiritual development to another.<br \/>\nOnly because of the vainglory our heart remains closed for the Jesus prayer , also known as the Prayer of the Heart ( Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me) , and the mind remains unenlightened .<br \/>\nAccording to the Tradition of the Holy Fathers and the teaching of the Church, the demon takes the centre of our heart before Baptism.<br \/>\nBut when the man through Baptism receives the grace of God at the centre of the heart, then the demon is driven out from the centre of the heart and he settles around the heart.<br \/>\nAs long as the heart is captured by the passions and until it is sufficiently purified, that is, until the person comes to the second level of the spiritual development &#8211; the prayer of the mind in the heart and the enlightenment, the demon remains in the surroundings of our heart, holds it captive through the passions and closed for the mind.<br \/>\nClosed heart is a mild form of demonization and therefore it is very difficult to detect and alarm the individual than the visible demonization.<br \/>\nVisible illness, everyone wants to heal, but for the invisible it is usually too late for healing. Especially when someone thinks he is spiritually healthy.<br \/>\nWe need to know that everything happens according to the rules of the spiritual law. At first, the demon attacks us through the rougher passions &#8211; gluttony and covetousness , and at the end through the most subtle &#8211; vainglory.<br \/>\nThe demon is always fighting to regain the lost positions and even tries to return to the centre of our heart.<br \/>\nBoth the pigs and the pig &#8211; keepers fled from Christ, only the first ones ( not knowing) drown, being not able to tolerate the demons in themselves and the others &#8211; not recognizing the demons in themselves, captured by the inner demonic fear &#8211;
